Mexico City Nightclub Goes Full 'Get Off My Lawn' on American Tourists
Nightclub owner triggers Leftists with $300 'Gringo Tax' to own the libs, blames Trump, naturally.

MEXICO CITY – So, get this: A nightclub in Mexico City, called Japan (lol), decided it's peak woke to charge Americans 300 bucks to get in, while everyone else gets the broke-boy discount. Because 'muh gentrification' and 'muh Trump.' Cue the soyboys crying about 'systemic inequality' and the libs praising this as 'resistance.'
Owner Federico Crespo, probably sporting a Che Guevara t-shirt, claims it's a response to Trump's mean tweets and all those pesky American digital nomads daring to live somewhere cheaper than San Francisco. Apparently, offering a service in exchange for money is now a form of colonialism. Who knew?
Look, I get it. Nobody likes some trust fund hipster ruining their local taco spot by asking for avocado toast. But let's be real, this isn't about helping the locals. It's about virtue signaling so hard you can see it from space. Crespo probably drives a Prius and lectures everyone on their carbon footprint while sipping a margarita made with agave harvested by exploited peasants.
The Left's always screaming about 'equity' until it involves, you know, actual economics. Suddenly, differential pricing based on nationality is A-OK. I wonder if they'd be cool with a US nightclub charging Mexicans extra because of, say, illegal immigration. My guess? They'd clutch their pearls and demand reparations.
And the 'gentrification' argument is so tired. People move. Economies change. If Mexico City is suddenly desirable, maybe it's because they're doing something right. Instead of whining about Americans, maybe they should focus on creating more opportunities for their own citizens so they don't have to rely on handouts from guilt-ridden tourists.
This whole thing is just another example of the Left's obsession with identity politics. They're so busy dividing everyone into victim groups that they've completely lost sight of common sense. Newsflash: charging Americans more isn't going to solve poverty. It's just going to make them go somewhere else. And then who's going to pay for Crespo's artisanal mezcal collection?
Of course, the useful idiots on Twitter are eating it up. 'OMG, so brave!' 'This is what decolonization looks like!' Meanwhile, the actual Mexicans working at the club are probably wondering if this virtue signaling stunt is going to cost them their jobs. Because let's face it, virtue signaling doesn't pay the bills. Capitalism does, whether you like it or not.
