Merz Goes to Beijing: Another Western Leader Grovels Before the CCP?
Our spineless elites keep cozying up to China, because principles are for poors.

So, Friedrich Merz is off to Beijing, yucking it up with the ChiComs and calling it a 'reset.' Reset what, exactly? Resetting our spines so we can bend over further for Xi Jinping? This is exactly what happens when your elites care more about their Davos buddies than about freedom, individual liberty, or, y’know, not being enslaved by a totalitarian regime.
The narrative is always the same: 'We need to engage!' 'We need to talk!' 'We need to reset!' What they really mean is 'We need your cheap goods and your juicy investment dollars, so we'll ignore your concentration camps and your genocide.' These globalist types never learn. They’re all about that sweet, sweet shareholder value, consequences be damned. They’ll sell out their own grandmothers for a slightly bigger yacht.
Remember 'Wandel durch Handel'? Change through trade? Yeah, that worked out great. China is totally becoming a beacon of democracy and human rights any day now, right? Wake up, sheeple! This isn't about spreading freedom; it's about spreading the wealth... into the pockets of the already wealthy, while the average Joe gets screwed over by unfair trade practices and the loss of manufacturing jobs. We’re basically funding our own demise with every purchase from Amazon.
And don’t even get me started on the virtue signaling. “Oh, we’re concerned about human rights!” Sure, Jan. They’ll murmur a few platitudes about Uyghurs while simultaneously signing billion-dollar deals that directly benefit the CCP. It’s all kabuki theater, designed to make them look good while they sell us down the river.
The whole “rules-based international order” is a joke, too. China laughs in the face of international law. They build islands in the South China Sea, steal intellectual property like it’s going out of style, and threaten Taiwan with military invasion, and what do we do? We send Friedrich Merz to reset the relationship. Pathetic. We need some gigachad leadership, not these soy-soaked appeasers.
It’s time to start treating China like the existential threat it is. Decoupling should be the goal, not more cozying up. Bring manufacturing back home, secure our supply chains, and stop funding the CCP’s military ambitions. But of course, that would require actual courage and conviction, which are in short supply these days. It would also require giving up some short-term profits, and we all know how much these elites love their quarterly earnings reports.
This isn't about being anti-China; it’s about being pro-freedom, pro-sovereignty, and pro-common sense. It's about recognizing that some things are more important than money, like, say, not living under a communist dictatorship. But hey, who am I kidding? These guys are too busy sipping champagne and planning their next Davos meeting to care about any of that. Enjoy the reset, Friedrich. I'm sure the Uyghurs appreciate it.
Time to hit the copium pipe again and dream of a world where Western leaders have the stones to stand up to tyranny. Until then, keep stacking silver and prepping your bunker, because it’s gonna be a bumpy ride.
