Louisiana GOP Trolls Libs by Nuking Woke Clerk's Gig
Exoneree gets BTFO'd as Republicans pull the rug out from under his 'historic' election victory. Cope.

BATON ROUGE, La. – Louisiana Republicans just pulled off the ultimate power move, triggering the libs by vaporizing the newly-elected position of some Dem dude who spent 30 years in the slammer. Turns out, elections have consequences…unless the GOP decides they don't. Guvna Jeff Landry, a true patriot, signed the bill abolishing the Clerk of Criminal Court for Orleans Parish faster than you can say “election integrity,” according to the Louisiana secretary of state spokesperson, Trey Williams.
So, this dude Calvin Duncan, fresh out of the pokey after being exonerated for a crime he swears he didn't do (sure, Jan), gets elected to some cushy clerk job. The Left was probably popping champagne bottles thinking they'd finally stuck it to the Man. But then, BAM! The Louisiana GOP was like, “Hold my beer,” and yeeted his position into the shadow realm. They say it's about efficiency and cost savings. Sure, Jan. It's about sending a message: elections are only valid when we win. The legislation consolidates the civil and criminal court clerks’ offices in New Orleans, bringing it in line with other parishes in Louisiana, which have a single clerk’s office.
The usual suspects are screaming about voter suppression and systemic racism. Cry more, snowflakes. This is just the GOP playing 4D chess while the Dems are still trying to figure out how the horsey moves. Duncan got a temporary restraining order from some activist judge, but that's just delaying the inevitable. The Fifth Circuit is gonna laugh that thing right out of the courtroom. He said he was “elated because the people’s right to vote is being honored.”
State Rep Mandie Landry, who is not related to the governor but probably wishes she was, is whining about how “atrocious” this is and what it means for other elected positions. Honey, it means the GOP is done playing nice. Buckle up, buttercup. They claim it will save $27k for the state and $233k for the city. Chump change. The civil clerk position will remain and absorb the criminal clerk’s role.
This whole saga is peak Clown World. A dude who probably should have stayed in jail gets elected to a position he's completely unqualified for, then cries foul when the GOP decides to clean house. It's like the plot of a bad Netflix movie, except it's real life, and the bad guys are winning. LOL. This is a win for freedom and a loss for wokism. The libs can seethe, cope, and mald.
But let's be real, this is about power. Pure, unadulterated power. The Louisiana GOP saw an opportunity to stick it to the Left, and they took it. And honestly? Based. This is what happens when you try to turn the criminal justice system into a social experiment. The state shifts about $1.17 million in expenditures to the parish. This sends a clear message: Get wrecked, Libs.
