Leftists Seething as Based Colombian President-Elect De la Espriella Vows to Instantly Restore Ties with Israel and US
The newly elected conservative leader wastes no time ending the cringe foreign policy tantrums of the Petro administration.

It’s over for the leftist virtue-signaling circus in Bogota. Colombia’s far-right President-elect Abelardo De la Espriella has just announced a massive, based pivot back to reality, pledging to immediately restore diplomatic ties with Israel and the United States. This move officially brings an end to the ideological cope-fest of outgoing socialist President Gustavo Petro, who spent his presidency burning bridges with Colombia’s most important international allies.
For years, Colombia and Israel had a solid, high-IQ security alliance. Israel supplied the military with high-tier tech, and the U.S. kept the security funding flowing to keep cartels and Marxist guerrillas in check. But then Gustavo Petro took office and decided to prioritize terminally online leftist aesthetics over actual national security. Petro threw a massive geopolitical tantrum over Gaza, completely severing ties with Israel in May 2024 and leaving Colombia’s defense forces holding the bag with unmaintained fighter jets and no spare parts.
Petro also tried his best to alienate the United States, lecturing Washington about the drug war while letting local coca production skyrocket. It was a masterclass in midwit diplomacy, designed to win applause from progressive NGOs while actively tanking the country's security and economy. Unsurprisingly, the public got tired of the clown show, leading to the election of De la Espriella.
De la Espriella’s first order of business is putting an end to the self-sabotage. By pledging to rebuild ties with Israel and the US, he is signaling that Colombia is under adult supervision once again. The incoming administration is putting pragmatism, national defense, and actual alliances ahead of leftist feelings, much to the absolute horror of corporate media outlets who are already crying about his "far-right" label.
For the military, this is an absolute win. The defense establishment can finally get back to work without having to worry about their equipment falling apart due to ideological embargoes. Restoring relations means getting the supply chains back online for critical defense tech, ensuring the state-run arms manufacturer INDUMIL can keep operations running smoothly under proper licensing.
Naturally, the progressive establishment is already melting down, claiming this move is an "imperialist regression." In reality, it's just basic common sense. You don’t alienate the global superpower in your backyard and the premier defense-tech hub in the Middle East just to score points on social media. De la Espriella is bringing back the classic pro-Western alliance, and the results speak for themselves.
