Kherson Bus Drivers: Livin' That Drone Life (and Lovin' It?)
Slava Ukraini, I guess? But seriously, are these Kherson bus drivers auditioning for the Darwin Awards?

Kherson, Ukraine – So, apparently, driving a bus in Kherson these days is like playing Russian Roulette, except instead of a bullet, it's a frickin' drone dropping grenades on your head. Seems like a blast... for Putin, anyway.
According to the lamestream media (aka the BBC), these brave (or stupid?) bus drivers are dodging drones like Neo in the Matrix. Anatoly Dmytrov, a real-life action hero, says his bus got hit by a drone. "All the windows got smashed," he whined. "I barely made it to the next stop." Cry me a river, Anatoly. At least you got a story to tell at the bar.
Kherson's municipal transport company is having a real bad time. Three workers KIA (killed in action), eight wounded, and enough busted buses to start a demolition derby. But hey, at least they're getting hazard pay, right? (Narrator: They're not.)
Rita Dobrinova, some lady in charge, says the drones are getting smarter. They're using "optic fibre cables" which are immune to jamming. Translation: Putin's got better tech than your grandpa's TV remote. She also claims the drones "look the driver right in the eye through the windscreen." Spooky. Sounds like the plot of a bad SyFy movie.
Kherson's supposed to be under Ukrainian control, but Russia still claims it. Classic. It's like that ex who keeps showing up at your door demanding their Tupperware back. Get a life, Vlad.
So, what's being done about all this drone-ageddon? The authorities have put up some "anti-drone nets" and given the drivers helmets and bullet-proof vests. Brilliant! That'll stop a drone-dropped bomb. It’s like putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound. They also got drone detectors that only work half the time. Progress!
Look, I'm not saying these bus drivers are idiots. I’m also not not saying it. They're just trying to do their jobs in a warzone. But seriously, is a paycheck worth getting blown to smithereens by a Russian drone? Maybe it's time to invest in a good bomb shelter and a Netflix subscription. Or just move to Florida, where the only thing you have to worry about is hurricanes and DeSantis.
Anyway, the moral of the story is: war is hell, public transportation is a death trap, and Putin is still a massive tool. Stay safe out there, Kherson bus drivers. And maybe invest in some REALLY good insurance.
This whole situation is just peak clown world. Ukraine gets bombed, Biden sends billions to God knows where, and we're supposed to care about some bus drivers dodging drones? Wake me up when something interesting happens.
