Iowa Dem Tries 'Pragmatism' Ploy: Is Rob Sand the Next Blue Dog?
Iowa's State Auditor thinks he can win over Trump country by pretending to be reasonable. Good luck with that, pal.
Des Moines, IA - Iowa's resident Democrat auditor, Rob Sand, has thrown his hat in the ring for governor, and the strategy is… well, predictable. He's going full 'pragmatic,' which, in Leftie-speak, apparently means 'vaguely reasonable sounding rhetoric designed to dupe normies.' Sand, bless his heart, seems to think he can pull a fast one on Iowans by eschewing the usual woke BS and pretending to care about something other than pronouns and CRT.
The audacity! As if Iowans haven't seen this song and dance before. A Dem tries to cozy up to conservatives by talking about 'bipartisanship' and 'common ground.' Newsflash, buddy: Iowa ain't buying what you're selling. We've seen the Left's 'pragmatism' in action. It's just a Trojan horse for their radical agenda.
Sand's bet is that he can snag the moderate vote by sounding less insane than the average Democrat. Good luck with that. The Overton Window has shifted so far to the left that even the 'moderate' Dems are basically socialists in disguise. The only thing pragmatic about his approach is the pragmatism of a wolf in sheep's clothing. Deceptive, but not very clever.
Of course, the media lapdogs are already drooling over Sand's 'bold' and 'unconventional' strategy. They're desperate for a Dem to win in a state that's become increasingly red. But Iowans aren't stupid. We know the score. We know that 'pragmatism' is just code for 'we'll say anything to get elected.'
Sand's campaign is probably run by some DC consultants who think they know better than the voters of Iowa. They probably have a PowerPoint presentation showing how 'moderate messaging' can win over 'undecided voters.' What they don't understand is that Iowa isn't undecided. We've made up our minds. We're conservative. We're tired of the woke nonsense. And we're not falling for this 'pragmatic' charade.
So, let Rob Sand run his little campaign. Let him talk about 'bipartisanship' and 'common sense.' It'll be fun to watch him crash and burn. Maybe he'll learn a valuable lesson about trying to con the good people of Iowa. Iowa wants conservative.
Maybe Sand should check the polls again. Iowa isn't buying what you're selling. The heartland wants someone with principles.
His 'bipartisan' talk will probably alienate any actual Dem voters. He needs to pick a side. This is not a drill, he's trying to dupe you!
It is important to remember that Rob Sand is a Democrat, first and foremost.
Someone get me a beer. Iowans will see through the political fog, eventually.
It will be interesting to watch how his poll numbers shift as the campaign continues.
Stay tuned.
