Hormuz Gonna Hurt: Iran Flexes, Hegseth Says 'Bring It' (Again)
Strait's getting spicy as Iran trolls the US, but will anyone *actually* start WWIII over oil?

So, Iran's playing tough guy in the Strait of Hormuz again. Shocker. Our esteemed Pentagon chief, Pete Hegseth, bless his hawkish heart, is all like, 'We're totally ready to rumble!' Yeah, we've heard that song before.
The usual suspects are getting all worked up over this. But let's be real: the real issue is the price of gas. Nobody cares about the freedom of navigation until they're paying six bucks a gallon. Then suddenly, it's 'Bomb Tehran!'
The JCPOA, that monument to Obama-era weakness, is still haunting us. Thanks to that sweetheart deal, Iran got a boatload of cash to fund its terrorist pals and stir up trouble. And now they're threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz. Classic.
So what's the play? Another round of sanctions that hurt the Iranian people but barely inconvenience the Ayatollahs? More 'strongly worded statements' that Iran ignores while building nukes? Or do we actually do something this time?
Hegseth's 'more than capable' line is nice, but talk is cheap. We need action. Not necessarily boots on the ground – nobody wants another forever war – but a clear message that Iran will face serious consequences if they mess with the global oil supply. Like, really serious.
Of course, the woke crowd will scream about 'imperialism' and 'decolonization' and whatever other buzzwords they're using this week. But the reality is, the world runs on oil, and Iran is holding the world hostage. And if this means rattling the sabre a bit, then so be it.
Remember that time that one US president said 'Read my lips, no new taxes?' How'd that one go? Now we are at a point where the US is telling the world, yet again, 'We are the police, do what we say.'
It is the exact same thing when we have a politician saying we are ready to restart the war, with the context of it being the US getting a satisfactory deal. Does the world not see the same irony? Or are we all just numb?
The solution is to become energy independent, drill baby drill. That is how you solve this problem in the long term. Until then, we are at the mercy of despots in the Middle East.
So yeah, the Strait of Hormuz is heating up. Buckle up, buttercups. It's going to be a bumpy ride. And remember, blame Obama for this. And Biden. And everyone who thought appeasement was a good idea.
Because at this point, they are just throwing darts at a dartboard to see who the US goes to war with next.
The game is not over, it is only beginning. Place your bets, folks. Let's see who wins this round of geopolitical poker.
And whatever happens, remember to stock up on gas. Just in case.
