Because the US and Israel decided to play grab-ass with Iran, and now the Strait of Hormuz is about as open as Hunter Biden's laptop at a press conference. Surprise, surprise.

Remember when oil was, like, two bucks a gallon? Now it's creeping back up because Brandon and his merry band of globalists decided that Iran was a real threat this time (narrator: they weren't). Brent crude is at $96 a barrel, up from $72. Jet fuel's doubled to $1,650 a tonne, according to IATA – that's the airline lobby, so you know it's bad.

Apparently, Europe gets 60% of its jet fuel from the Gulf, and 40% of that goes through the Strait of Hormuz. So, yeah, kinda important. ACI Europe – that's the Airports Council International, not some commie front group – is freaking out. They sent a strongly worded letter to some EU bureaucrat named Apostolos. Good luck with that.

The last tanker through the Strait is due in Copenhagen soon. After that? Who knows? Maybe they'll start burning windmills to keep the planes in the air. Probably have to virtue signal about it first, though.

Now, the smart move would have been to not antagonize Iran in the first place.
