Dem Boogeymen Triggered Over DeSantis' Epic Redistricting Win
Cry more, libs! Elias and Eisen unleash the legal kraken after Florida's spicy new map gives Republicans a four-seat advantage.
TALLAHASSEE, FL – Hold onto your soy lattes, because the Dem tears are flowing like a busted fire hydrant. Gov. Ron DeSantis just dropped a redistricting nuke, and the left is having a full-blown meltdown. Those heroes of the resistance, Marc Elias and Norm Eisen, are back at it again, trying to subvert democracy because they can't win fair and square.
These guys, along with the usual gaggle of virtue-signaling groups like Common Cause and the League of Women Voters, are throwing a legal tantrum over Florida's new congressional map. Apparently, it's not fair that the Republicans are poised to gain four seats. Boo-hoo.
Elias, the guy who brought you the Russia hoax and countless failed election challenges, is leading the charge. And Eisen, the impeachment clown, is right there beside him, ready to spout more nonsense about democracy being under threat. Because, you know, drawing maps that favor Republicans is totally the same as storming the Capitol. Right.
Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at Advancing American Freedom, told Fox News Digital that the lawsuits might find success in state court. Von Spakovsky added that the Democrat groups might win on delay, even if the lawsuits are overturned, it could impact the implementation of the new districts for the upcoming elections. He also noted that because of the Supreme Court ruling, the lawsuits are now resting on claims that the districts unfairly suit Republicans' political needs, not race-based arguments. Translation: they're grasping at straws, desperately trying to find something, anything, to stop the DeSantis train.
Seriously, these people are so predictable. They whine about gerrymandering when it benefits the GOP, but they're perfectly fine with it when it helps them. Double standards? You betcha.
And let's not forget the Supreme Court ruling that's got the libs in a tizzy. Turns out, you can't just draw districts based on race anymore. Who knew? DeSantis saw the opportunity and seized it, much to the chagrin of the perpetually offended.
Florida Republicans are working to defend the map before the candidate qualifying period begins in early June, with congressional primaries scheduled for August 18. The office of Florida Secretary of State Cord Byrd declined to comment on the pending litigation.
Von Spakovsky predicts a 'battle royale' in court, suggesting coordinated efforts among the groups filing the lawsuits, including Common Cause and the League of Women Voters. He said that the groups are hoping to get at least one of the three judges to issue an injunction, even if they ultimately lose the case, in order to delay the implementation of the new map.
These legal shenanigans are all about one thing: delay. The Dems know they're losing the culture war, so they're trying to slow things down, hoping to cling to power just a little bit longer.
The redistricting plan was designed to give Republicans four additional seats in Congress. The lawsuits were filed in Leon County, Florida. One lawsuit was brought by Eisen and others on behalf of voting rights groups including Common Cause and the League of Women Voters. Another was brought by Elias on behalf of the Equal Ground Education Fund and several individual Florida voters, and the third was brought by the ...
So, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show. The libs are in full meltdown mode, and it's glorious. DeSantis is playing chess while they're playing checkers, and the results are hilarious.
Remember, this isn't about fairness or justice. It's about power. And right now, the left is losing their grip. Sad!
