Commie Sweep: Leftist Radicals Utterly Demolish Establishment Dems in NYC Primary Disaster
Wealthy trust-fund liberal Dan Goldman gets absolutely bodied by anti-Israel socialist Brad Lander as Mayor Mamdani’s red wave rolls over Gotham.

It was an absolute bloodbath for the establishment crowd in New York on Tuesday. The Democratic primary turned into a complete sweep for candidates backed by NYC’s self-described democratic socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The far-left took no prisoners, leaving moderate Democrats weeping into their organic lattes as the progressive machine marched right over them.
The funniest casualty of the night was two-term incumbent Representative Dan Goldman in the 10th district. Goldman, a massive heir to the Levi Strauss denim fortune who spent his glory days leading the first Trump impeachment inquiry in 2019, got completely obliterated by progressive challenger Brad Lander. Lander, backed by Bernie Sanders and Mayor Mamdani, dragged Goldman 65.7% to 34.1%. Lander ran on a platform accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza, while Goldman, backed by pro-Israel groups, found himself totally out of favor with his own radicalized base.
It got so bad for Goldman that a hipster coffee shop in Williamsburg, Poetica Coffee, literally banned him on social media over the weekend, telling the multi-millionaire congressman he wasn't welcome. Imagine being a loyal leftist and getting canceled by a Brooklyn coffee shop. After the beatdown, Goldman crawled back to concede, while Lander bragged on X that voters want "leadership ready to fight, not fold."
Donald Trump couldn't help but laugh at the spectacle, taking to social media to call Goldman "weak and pathetic" and pointing out that he "just lost, BIG!" Trump also took aim at the broader socialist takeover, posting that America would "never be a communist country!" during a late-night posting session. Trump has repeatedly called Mayor Mamdani a communist—a label Mamdani rejects, though he is currently busy trying to raise taxes to the moon.
The clown show continued in the 13th district, where five-term establishment gatekeeper Adriano Espaillat, the chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, got absolute-valued by Darializa Avila Chevalier. Chevalier is a doctoral student whose main qualification seems to be hanging out at the Columbia University pro-Palestinian encampments. Mamdani celebrated her victory anyway, calling her a person "of clarity, of conscience and of conviction."
To round out the progressive sweep, Assemblywoman Claire Valdez took down Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso in the 7th district. That makes it three for three for Mamdani's socialist roster. Mamdani defines his "democratic socialism" as taxing the rich to fund massive social programs, which basically means running NYC's economy even further into the ground.
While the far-left celebrates their hostile takeover, establishment Democrats in DC are quietly wetting the bed. They are already warning that running these radical, anti-Israel, tax-hiking candidates is going to absolutely destroy their chances with actual swing voters in the November midterms. Pop the popcorn, folks—the Democrat civil war is just getting started.
