Colbert's 'Late Show' Gets Woke-Holed: Cancellation Edition
Corporate overlords finally pull the plug on Colbert's cringe-fest, citing 'financial reasons' (yeah, right).

So, Colbert's 'Late Show' finally bit the dust. Turns out, even virtue signaling has its limits when the woke jokes ain't landing and the ratings are tanking faster than Biden's approval. CBS claims it's a 'financial decision,' but everyone knows it's because Colbert's Trump Derangement Syndrome became terminal.
The grand finale involved Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, and a CGI wormhole that looked suspiciously like the CBS logo. Meta, I guess? Colbert and Sir Paul switched off the lights at the Ed Sullivan Theater, probably wondering where their next paycheck is coming from. At least they got to milk the Beatles connection one last time.
His 'Strike Force Five' buddies – Oliver, Meyers, Fallon, and Kimmel – showed up to pay their respects. Kimmel whined about missing Colbert, and Meyers joked about where Americans will find another middle-aged white guy making jokes about the news. As if late-night isn't already a monoculture of progressive echo chambers.
CBS wants us to believe this was all about money. Right. It conveniently happened while Paramount Global was begging the FCC to approve its $8.4 billion merger with Skydance Media. Can't have any controversial figures rocking the boat when you're trying to get the government to sign off on your corporate empire.
Springsteen, ever the astute political analyst, declared that Colbert was 'the first guy in America who lost his job because the president can't take a joke.' Oh, Bruce, honey, bless your heart. Maybe stick to writing songs about cars and girls. You're missing the plot like the rest of the lefty media.
Colbert brought out Jon Stewart, his old mentor, who dropped some wisdom about 'truthiness' and facing the darkness. As if Colbert's 'truthiness' wasn't the problem in the first place. Stewart channeling his inner Obi-Wan Kenobi, telling him to 'laugh' at the wormhole – which, let's be real, was just a metaphor for his career going down the toilet.
Then there was Letterman, who showed up to vandalize CBS property with Colbert because destroying things is always the answer for failing boomers. Classic. These guys think they are sticking it to the man, but are just embarrassing themselves. Newsflash: no one cares about your watermelon-hurling protest.
The real story here is that woke comedy is dead. People are tired of being lectured by millionaire celebrities. They want jokes, not sermons. Colbert's show was a perfect example of what happens when you prioritize virtue signaling over actual entertainment. Good riddance.
I'm sure some other network will pick him up eventually. Probably CNN. Then they can both disappear down the relevance wormhole together. In the meantime, let's raise a glass to the end of an era of forced laughter and manufactured outrage. Maybe now we can get back to some real comedy. Or at least some memes.
Colbert’s been cucked by the very corporations he defended while losing viewers. Maybe next time he should consider that the only joke left is him. It's almost as funny as the 'Green New Deal' but not quite as destructive.
