Clown World Summer: Cardiff Sets Warm Night Record as Mainstream Media Coping Intensifies
The UN climate chief wants you to panic over a 23.5C night while Parliament votes for a massive 87% emissions cut.

Welcome to the absolute state of modern Britain, where a warm night in Cardiff is treated like the literal apocalypse. The Met Office is out here sounding the alarms because overnight temperatures in the Welsh capital only dropped to 23.5°C, breaking the June minimum temperature record. Naturally, the corporate media is having an absolute meltdown, warning us of a "savage" heatwave that is supposedly the end of days. Yes, bro, it’s summer. It gets warm. But in 2026, a warm breeze is a national emergency.
The alarmists are pointing to Gosport in Hampshire, which hit 36.1°C on Wednesday, barely sliding past the previous record of 35.6°C set in Southampton all the way back in 1976. That’s right—fifty years ago, it was almost exactly this hot, but back then people just went to the beach instead of crying on social media. Now, scientists are using computer models to estimate that the current heatwave is 2°C to 4°C hotter because of your SUV, claiming carbon pollution is "baking our planet."
To make sure everyone stays properly terrified, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) extended its red heat-health alert until 11:00 PM on Friday. This is only the second time they’ve ever pulled the red alert lever, so you know they want maximum drama. The Met Office did the same for the south-east of England, extending its red alert to Friday night. To back up the panic, they’re throwing around scary numbers about how 10,000 people died in summer heatwaves between 2020 and 2024, and citing reports claiming global heat kills one person every minute. Stay afraid, folks.
Right on cue, UN climate chief Simon Stiell emerged from his air-conditioned office to lecture the masses. He declared this ordinary summer weather to be the "latest price to pay for fossil fuel pollution." Stiell lamented about "schools closing, the vulnerable dying, economies sweating," and warned that this is just the beginning of the climate crisis. He insisted that the only solution is a fast shift to renewables and protecting trees, completely ignoring the fact that global carbon emissions actually rose in 2025 despite all the international treaties.
Not to be outdone in the virtue-signaling department, the UK Parliament voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to legally bind the country to a massive 87% emissions cut by 2040. They’re taking orders from their official advisor, the Climate Change Committee (CCC), which claimed in May that the UK’s infrastructure was "built for a climate that no longer exists." It’s the perfect political play: pass symbolic laws targeting 2040 while the country’s actual, current infrastructure melts because of a little high humidity.
