Clown World NY: Radical Socialists Bodyslam Democratic Establishment in Primary Sweeps
AIPAC cash and establishment elites get absolutely ratioed as Mayor Mamdani's socialist army prepares to bring maximum chaos to Congress.

The New York Democratic establishment just took an absolute L, and the cope is already legendary. At polling stations across New York City on Tuesday, a massive political storm was brewing, and when the dust settled, the old-guard Dems were left completely dismantled. It turns out that Zohran Mamdani's stunning mayoral run less than seven months ago—where he bodied former Governor Andrew Cuomo to become the youngest NYC mayor in a century—was absolutely not a fluke.
Mamdani has officially built a left-wing electoral machine that is out here claiming scalps, unseating entrenched incumbents, and laughing all the way to the victory podium. On Tuesday night, a trio of Mamdani-backed candidates accomplished similar feats, celebrating their wins by bending the knee to their boy mayor. "I want to thank our mayor," state assemblywoman Claire Valdez gloated at her victory party, after beating an opponent who had the backing of basically the entire NYC Dem establishment. "Tonight we have not just won an election, but we have proved that this movement is durable."
But the real comedy was in the congressional races, where the progressive squad did some serious giant-slaying. First up, New York City Comptroller Brad Lander unseated incumbent Congressman Dan Goldman. Yes, that Dan Goldman—the ultra-wealthy lead lawyer from Trump's first impeachment trial. Goldman had all the elite support in the world, including a massive pile of cash from AIPAC, the deep-pocketed pro-Israel lobbying group. But all that lobbyist money couldn't buy him a win against the Mamdani ground game. Goldman got completely ratioed by the voters.
Next on the chopping block was 79-year-old Adriano Espaillat, a literal five-term fossil in the House of Representatives and the leader of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. Community activist Darializa Avila Chevalier went ahead and unseated him, proving that being a decades-long establishment gatekeeper means absolutely nothing when the socialist horde decides it's time for you to go. The old guard is officially being put out to pasture.
Since these three newly minted nominees are running in deep-blue districts, they are virtual locks to win in November. This means Mamdani's socialist squad—with its policy wish list of government-funded health insurance, massive tax hikes on the wealthy, and rent-controlled housing schemes—is about to infect national politics. This isn't just a local NYC problem anymore; these radicals are heading straight to Washington to make it everyone's problem.
This is going to create absolute comedy in the House if Democrats somehow get a majority in November. Traditional party leaders like Hakeem Jeffries are going to be sweating bullets trying to manage this rowdy new faction. Jeffries, who represents part of NYC himself and is expecting to cruise into the Speaker's chair, might want to check his blind spot. Neither Chevalier nor Valdez have committed to supporting him for Speaker. They are already holding his leadership hostage before they even get sworn in.
The mainstream media is already sweating, drawing comparisons to the 2010 right-wing Tea Party movement that unseated long-serving Republicans and made Congress completely uncooperative. Brad Lander tried to run some damage control on Wednesday, offering up some grade-A cope in a TV interview. "We're joyful about what it looks like to deliver," Lander insisted. "That is very different energy than what the Tea Party brought. We want to build something, not just break something."
Sure, Brad. You want to "build" a system where the government taxes everyone into oblivion to pay for "free" stuff. Meanwhile, Republicans are eating popcorn and getting ready to paint the entire Democratic Party as a gang of radical socialists. With the inmates now officially running the asylum in New York, the general election is going to be a wild ride. Stay tuned, because the clown show is going national.
